Smaller diameter tubes and pipes inspection causes a set of challenges. Difficulties inspectors face include limited access between pipes, low thickness of pipes and tubes, and large quantity to inspect. Historically, radiography has been the preferred method for this application. Ultrasonic phased array technology offers a fast, readily viable option for small diameter pipes and tubes inspection.
